Day Three: A full day of paddling and exploring the remote coastline in search of vistas unique only to this area. While paddling, make sure you look around for sea life that might be accompanying us.
Day Four: Another full day of paddling and hiking along the great sand dunes of Burgeo.
Day Five: An early morning start to meet our boat that will take us to view the dramatic fjords of Western Brook Pond. This is truly an astonishing segment of the trip. It is often called The Norway of Eastern North America. Then we head up the northern peninsula for an early evening paddle to Quirpon Island on the northern most tip of Newfoundland. The paddle will take us through the fields of Iceberg Alley to reach an historical lighthouse where we will spend the night.
Day Six: A day to relax. We will explore the Island, then do a little whale watching while we paddle through the icebergs, and begin to understand the magnitude of nature.
Day Seven: We will paddle to historical L`Ance Aux Meados, the first North American landing site by the Vikings a thousand years ago. Another indelible experience engendering a unique sense of discovery and adventure.
Day Eight: We will say our good-byes to Newfoundland and head for home.
Cost is $3,450.00, per person, double occupancy. Includes airfare from New York to Deer Lake, Newfoundland, and all other costs, except personal equipment and items.
