To discover the elements, which make this one of the world’s most intriguing lands, Machias Adventures brings you to weeks of wonder in June and July.
Beginning with two nights in the unsurpassed Inverlochy Castle hotel at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain, you will then explore the lochs and locks of the Great Glen canal system by sailboat. Each night will be spent in a small hotel near the water, affording the opportunity for beautiful walks and quiet contemplation between sails.
>From there, travel across the highlands and the sea to spend four nights on the Isle of Skye in the Hebrides. Skye is home to shepards and farmers, the center for Gaelic language studies and the scene of breathtaking juxtapositions of rock and water. The ever-changing sky of these islands forms a backdrop of powerful vistas for a way of life unchanged for centuries.
Our final few days back on the mainland take us to the castles, villages and rolling hills surrounding Oban, one of Scotland’s loveliest villages. Travelers can shop and dine, hike the countryside, absorb the great spiritual history here, or simply contemplate the glorious sea.
