The island of St. Vincent in the Grenadines is at once the most desirable place in the Caribbean and one of the least visited. Settled over 7,000 years ago and known as the garden of the Caribbean for its beauty and fruitfulness, St. Vincent has remained one of the least altered ecosystems in this part of the world.
A central mountain range and the Soufiere Volcano, whose rocks have produced stunning black beaches around the island, dominate the landscape. Waterfalls, rain forests, gardens both natural and cultivated, and the surrounding sea make St. Vincent a true paradise on earth.
Travel to a remote corner of this island where, from our own private cove, Machias travelers will spend a week exploring. We'll visit the oldest botanical garden in the Western Hemisphere, tour magnificent private gardens of anthirium and orchids, and hike up the volcano. We'll sail, walk through the mystical rain forest, or simply relax and soak up the magnificence of this sublime place.
